We’re two weeks into a new year and I’m physically and mentally drained.
Following the national news, the inauguration, and the LA fires (among other issues) is exhausting in itself (and my heart goes out to all who are directly impacted), but also my personal life has been full of challenges.
My car has been out of commission for two weeks, our new nanny cancelled on her very first day, our household is bleeding money (new stove, new dryer, etc.), my daughter still doesn’t want to sleep without being held, comforted, or driven around (and even then wakes often), and I’m exhausted from a new pregnancy (yes, baby #2 is on the way — which we’re very happy about it). I also work full time.
These days, I rarely get breaks from work, parenting, or household tasks. When I do, I can’t bring myself to do anything other than sit or lay… and maybe turn on the TV or read. So obviously I haven’t been researching, interviewing, or writing. And, in full transparency, I don’t see this changing any time soon.
I’m not abandoning this initiative. Now more than ever, women’s health needs are attention — and I believe it’s important that we combat misinformation and present consumers with relevant data and facts — but I don’t have the capacity to continue doing what I’ve been doing.
So I’m taking pause and shifting my approach to accommodate my current situation. I will continue to write about women’s health and mental health issues (either from an industry or a personal perspective), but not as often and not in same vein that I have been.
Now is a critical time for self-care and I’m doing what we all need to do: listening to my body, embracing the present moment (and the situation I’m in) and giving myself grace.
If you have any questions or if you want to connect, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Proud of you for prioritizing self care and I’m so excited for babe #2! This has been a labor of love and I’ve so enjoyed reading along. Looking forward to your next chapter!
